FOR KIDS

There’s a good selection of nanny agencies with a presence in Courchevel if there’s no provision included in your chalet. There are several nursery facilities across the different villages for children from 18 months and ski school from age three. There are a number of British ski schools offering children’s lessons from age 4 or 5 too.

APRES SKI & NIGHTLIFE

Compared to its larger neighbouring villages Courchevel 1550 has a smaller selection of bars, however there are a few gems worth visiting. The Chanrossa is an lively bar which regularly hosts live bands making is a popular spot during happy hour and apres. Le Schuss is also a great place to enjoy a drink with beautiful views over Courchcvel 1550. Le Caterail has live bands and DJs for a livelier après atmosphere. The Taverne and Chanrossa bars are both British owned and generally attracts a good crowd.

Courchevel Le Praz provides a much more relaxed setting when it comes to apres, but there are still a handful of good bars to try. The Dropp Inn Bar serves much more reasonably priced drinks with really friendly staff and pool tables to keep you entertained. Wine Wednesdays are a hit especially as free nibbles are sometimes served, making it popular with locals and giving the place a more authentic feel. L’Escourchevel, pizzeria and sports bar, is a great place for weekly live music and drinks – a popular choice is the Vodka Freeze, a combination of slush puppy and vodka. La Cave des Lys is a stunning wine bar located in a vaulted cellar, perfect for a sophisticated drink with nibbles.
