From mid-December to early April.

BEGINNERS

A good choice of ski schools, including half a dozen British-run options offering private or small group lessons, coupled with quiet, gentle ski slopes, and a central learning location in the village make La Tania a good place to learn to ski or board.

WHO IS LA TANIA BEST FOR?

La Tania is one of the best choices for families, beginners and mixed ability groups. One of the quieter villages within the Three Valleys, whilst also being close to the popular resorts of Meribel and Courchevel.

RESORT GUIDE

FOR KIDS

Marketed particularly as a peaceful, family-friend ski destination, there’s a choice of private nanny services, private or group ski schools (from age three up) with a special area reserved for children.

APRES SKI & NIGHTLIFE

La Tania may be small but it has some fantastic apres bars that stay open until the early hours, with many featuring live bands.

Ski Lodge has been the heart and soul of the resort of La Tania since 1993. It is known for its lively apres-ski scene with live music and themed nights, as well as live sports on its four large screens.

Chrome Bar is a no-frills bar that serves delicious burgers and great value drinks – a pleasant surprise when you are this close to Courchevel.

Taiga Bar is a bright, modern, cocktail bar, bringing something a little more up-market to La Tania.

MOUNTAIN RESTAURANTS

Le 1928 – Ideally located at the crossroads of the 3 valleys. If you want a relaxing lunch on the Saulire side of the mountain with a fabulous view, then you have found it.  The restaurant is accessible for pedestrians from Courchevel and Tania. From La Tania, take the Tania cable car and then the chairlift Dou des Lanches and slide to the restaurant by the track of the Loze Pass.

Le Bouc Blanc, La Tania – Situated to the right of the piste just past La Tania bubble, this extremely friendly family-run restaurant offers great value food and fabulous views from their huge terrace. This is a really exceptional mountain restaurant, and very reasonable in price. It serves wonderful food and gives a very fast service, even when busy.

Snowfood – Snowfood offers simple food and is a great option for lunch, a quick snack or takeaway pizza. Order at the window and sit outside at their tables. Perfect for kid-friendly food (they have chicken nuggets!) or just something casual.

IN RESORT RESTAURANTS

Le Farçon, La Tania – The food here has gone very upmarket in recent years and with a refurb and extended restaurant area in 2007. There’s a tasting menu for around €60 which goes on and on and on. Worth a splurge and the lunchtime set menu is a good deal for the quality being offered. Celebrating 10 Years of having a Michelin Star in 2016!

Ski Lodge – Although it’s famous for live music après and late-night parties, it’s also one of the most popular restaurants in town. It’s always a bustling, casual atmosphere which is also kid-friendly. The menu has a variety of burger options, pastas as well as meat and fish dishes. Pop in for a plate of chips, or even snag a full English breakfast on weekends.

La Ferme –   If you’re after traditional Savoyard food, La Ferme is the place to go. They have fondue, raclette, and tartiflette, so you can get your cheesy fill for the week. They also have a variety of local starter dishes such as terrines, escargot and fois gras. And if you aren’t in the mood for cheese, they have a number of meat dishes as well.

LOCATION

Reviews

Terrific service throughout

The Chalet Edit organised a place for 14 of us in La Tania. They were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the booking process. And when we arrived, everything was organised perfectly. The chalet was ideal, the hosts were excellent and the hot tub was ready and waiting. I'd certainly use The Chalet Edit again.

First class service and knowledgeable staff

Fantastic service - we thoroughly enjoyed our first family ski holiday in La Tania, a brilliant family friendly ski resort and wonderful catered chalet. Anna from the Chalet Edit is extremely knowledgeable and efficient, she answered all our questions and helped to arrange childcare, ski school and find us a lovely chalet with a family room. We highly recommend The Chalet Edit and can't wait to book our next ski holiday!
