Chalet Shar Pei is an elegant free-standing chalet that is arguably in one of the best locations in Val d’Isere, making it a very popular chalet with our clients. We love that you can practically stumble to the lifts in the morning! But don’t forget you have a team of attentive staff, including an in-resort driver who can take you to and from the lifts, so no need to carry your skis anywhere. And when you arrive home your private swimming pool is waiting for you – perfection!

Overview

Sitting right on the snow front and overlooking the Calabourdanne river, Chalet Shar Pei is a stunning luxury chalet in Val d’Isere, right in the heart of the resort. Equally perfect for families wanting to combine a little bit of extra luxury or friends looking for a cool alpine retreat in the perfect location, Chalet Shar Pei will not disappoint.

The first thing you will notice on your arrival is the spectacular light that enters through the south-facing windows on the top floor. Huge reclaimed wood beams and a wrap-around terrace really give the feeling of space and the design draws the surrounding mountains into the chalet. This luxury catered chalet has used natural stone and wood throughout, creating a harmony with the surrounding, whilst perfectly blending soft cosy linens with bespoke industrial pieces. The result is truly unique.

Head to the top floor, which is where you will find the huge open plan living and dining space which has a double-height fireplace and a dramatic floral chandelier. The space truly transforms after dark with the village lighting up all around the chalet. There is no better place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink than snuggled up on the sofa, whilst your professional chef prepares your delicious evening meal.

No luxury ski chalet is complete without something a little special, and at Chalet Shar Pei you have a whole private spa area to enjoy. The 6mx3m pool is a great place to relax after a day on the hill and overlooks the stream and there is also a Turkish tiled hammam to soothe any tired legs after a day on the slope. What’s more, massages can be taken in this area or equally in the privacy of your room.

The staff here are some of the finest in the industry and many have a background of delivering to the highest standards on super-yachts and Michelin-starred restaurants. The chalet comes with access to our 4×4 Land Rover driving service and chauffeur, who also doubles as the go-to person for snow and weather updates and lift openings. You won’t have to worry about a thing during your holiday to Chalet Shar Pei.

Sleeping up to 8 + 2 guests, Chalet Shar Pei has five bedrooms in total, four ensuites and one additional bunk room suitable for children. Two ensuite bedrooms are situated on the ground floor. Leading up to the first floor is where you will find two expansive rooms each with its own bathrooms and amazing views. All of the bedrooms can be configured as a king or a twin and of course, come with their own private bathrooms with the exception of the bunk room which shares with the adjoining room.

Chalet Shar Pei is located just moments from the slopes and has ski-in access throughout most of the winter. The Bellevarde Express lift is just a two minutes walk away, and you have your driver service throughout your stay. Chambery airport is just under a 2-hour drive and Geneva and Lyon, are both 3 hours away.
