Lech is the perfect resort for the true luxury ski holiday connoisseur. Part of the iconic ski area, the Arlberg, it is one of Austria’s most desirable ski destinations combining fabulous chalets,  amazing skiing and world-class dining.

Lech has a variety of excellent restaurants serving international and traditional Austrian cuisine. Most restaurants are located in the numerous four and five-star hotels dotted around the village, all offering their unique specialities and style, attracting visitors year on year.

We have selected our favourite restaurants in Lech for you to discover on your next luxury ski chalet holiday.

Mohnenfluh
 – Perched in Oberlech and boasting one of the best sun terraces in Lech, with an awe-inspiring backdrop, Mohnenfluh offers simple yet elegant dining. The restaurant prides itself on its selection of the finest local ingredients presented on picture-perfect plates. Specialities include spicy venison sausage, saffron risotto and beef tartar but everything off their menu will delight.

Johannesstübli – This award-winning restaurant offers intimate fine-dining options for couples or groups. It boasts beautifully presented dishes and impeccable service.

Dirndlstüberl– If you feel like an Austrian meal, then the Dirndlstüberl is the right restaurant for you. The ambience is light and homely. The menu is a fusion of classic recipes, created with modern produce and new culinary techniques.

Fux – East meets West at Lech’s Euro-Asian fusion restaurant which offers a delectable selection of sushi as well as tempting seafood and meat options. Fux also houses one of the largest collections of wine in Austria (they have over 4,500 bottles).

Hus Nr 8 – One of the oldest taverns in Lech, Hus Nr 8 combines a cosy and intimate ambience with traditional cuisine. Located in an old home dating back to 1760, dine on authentic Austrian cuisine with a modern twist. Enjoy a warming cheese or meat fondue, a range of schnitzels, roasted pork or dumplings but make sure you leave room for a side of pancakes for dessert.

Balmalp – Great for breath-taking views and fresh, crowd-pleasing cuisine. Perched on the mountain, overlooking Zug, it’s a popular choice for lunch on sunny afternoons but the contemporary interior offers a warm ambience too. Their thin-crust pizzas are popular as is the bratwurst, ribs and goulash soup. Reservations are only taken at 12 pm so if you desire a later seating time, it’s on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Hotel Murmel – This small restaurant in Oberlech opens its doors to the public at lunchtime only. Run by a husband and wife team, the atmosphere is intimate, the welcome is authentic and the food is prepared with real care. Classic dishes such as stroganoff, curry and lasagne are served. Save room for dessert. Booking is essential.
