Price: 22,500 CHF – 51,000 CHF per week
We’ve stayed in this chalet before, so the stunning location needs flagging up. Chalet Gemini is one of four unique Zermatt residences (Chalet Castor, Pollux and Ibron are the others) located high up on the side of the Zermatt valley, just 200m from the Matterhorn Express lift station – so ski access is great, but the downside is that the apartment is tricky to get to. You have to walk through a tunnel in the side of the mountain into a lift and then walk up a fairly steep path and more steps. So perhaps not ideal for families with very small kids. Skis and boots can be left in the tunnel’s ski room. The chalet has its own sauna and unique outdoor hot tub to ensure maximum relaxation. On arrival, you’re met and taken to the chalet tunnel in an electric taxi.
Chalet Gemini is a rare gem, tucked against a beautiful hillside in Switzerland, the numerous balconies and terraces capture the surrounding snow-capped mountains in Zermatt. With 5 double bedrooms to sleep up to 10, this super luxury chalet boasts some of the best views in Zermatt and the town centre and Matterhorn Express are nearby. What’s more, is the focus on deep relaxation with its own wonderful sauna to steam away any aching limbs and a unique outdoor hot tub surrounded by snowy vistas.

Chalet Gemini is located just 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station where a street level tunnel leads to a lift built inside the mountain and at the top it is a 2-minute walk to the chalet. Chalet Gemini is so centrally located, close to both the village centre and ski lifts, this luxury ski chalet in Zermatt is an excellent choice for families if skiing with children. Although very small children please note the editor’s comments as its stunning hillside location does mean that it is not suitable for families with children in buggies or in need of constant childcare, as it is not easy to access.
Older children of five and over will love the hot tub and the cool modern living area. Plenty of space inside with all manner of entertainment – TVs in every room, DVDs and board games.
Childcare can also be easily arranged by your concierge, so you get adult leisure time. Supper is as hassle-free as it gets, as the chef is happy to prepare child-friendly meals, served at whatever time in the evening suits.
This chalet can also be rented on a bed & breakfast or self-catered basis on request.
