Luxury Chalets in Courchevel 1850: End of Season Alpine Tour

Following his recent End of Season Alpine Tour, Sales and Marketing Specialist Chris Ashwell shares his experiences and highlights of our Luxury Chalets in Courchevel 1850.

If you are looking for the ultimate luxury winter holiday experience, a trip to Courchevel 1850 should be at the very forefront of your list. Located in the heart of the French Alps and considered the beating heart of the 3 Valleys and just under 2.5 hours drive from Geneva Airport, this ski resort is home to some of the most stunning private luxury chalets in the world, each one offering breathtaking views, world class amenities and impeccable service.

During my recent trip out to the French Alps I was lucky enough to spend a whole day experiencing just what makes this ski resort so special. Providing incredible access to 600 km of superb pistes across the 3 Valleys, Courchevel 1850 is the perfect place for friends and families to ski and boasts a jaw-dropping selection of the finest flagship ski chalets in Europe. The gently sloping pistes that wind their way through luscious green pine trees offer the best ski-in/ski-out chalets in France and is the perfect place to learn to ski with the options of some more challenging slopes higher up.

Daytime Courchevel 1850,

My fabulous day started by meeting an incredibly friendly ESF instructor Jerome, a Courchevel local who has skied since he could balance on two feet who would be our guide for the morning. For late April the piste conditions were fantastic, perfectly smooth and edge-able allowing complete confidence in every turn as we cruised through the wide open and empty pistes that this area is renowned for. The Layout of Courchevel 1850 is simply fantastic with areas such as the Bellcote residence giving fantastic ski-in/ski-out access whilst also providing a stunning backdrop down to the valley below.

After having taken a few fast and empty laps of the ski area and crossing paths with almost no one we arrived at our lunch spot, the infamous Cave des Creux, a cozy restaurant with a distinct Savoyarde style where we were spoiled to a mouthwatering array of cured meats, cheeses and salads. Having not been on a snowboard for a while I had worked up quite the appetite and so opted to share a Morel Fondue with a colleague, which turned out to be twice as good as expected and had us raring to go and explore some of the prestigious luxury chalets that Courchevel 1850 is known for.

The first ski-in/ski-out luxury chalet we visited was Chalet Monet, a magnificent property and a true masterpiece of alpine architecture, combining traditional Savoyard style with contemporary design. Featuring seven spacious en-suite bedrooms, a private spa with a large indoor pool, hammam, indoor jacuzzi and massage room and a stunning living area with panoramic views, Chalet Monet is the epitome of luxury.

The next stop saw us explore Chalet Les Bastidons, nestled away in a secluded spot surrounded by pristine snow-covered forests yet still with prime ski access, Chalet Les Bastidons offers a unique and intimate setting for a winter retreat. With six beautifully appointed bedrooms, a cozy living room with a fireplace, a private outdoor hot tub, huge indoor pool, sauna and fully equipped gym, this chalet is perfect for those seeking the ultimate luxury ski experience.

Saving the best until last we entered Chalet Les Bruxellois, 837 m2 of pure unadulterated class. This exceptional chalet boasts an incomparable range of features and amenities, including six luxurious en-suite bedrooms, an indoor pool, spa, cinema room, a billiards room and a cheese and wine cellar. With its chic and contemporary decor, Chalet Les Bruxellois is an ideal choice for those seeking both style and comfort.

In conclusion, my trip to Courchevel 1850 was a truly unforgettable experience. If you are a lover of all things alpine luxury, fine dining, and winter sports then this sensational resort should definitely be on your bucket list. Just be warned – once you go, you might never want to leave!
