The winter season is getting closer, and with COVID still causing some concern to travellers, and the struggle the aviation industry has faced this summer, it is understandable that there is an increased interest in flying private. With privacy, reliability and luxury as a standard, private travel is the perfect complement to an ultra-luxurious winter ski holiday.
We are proud to be able to offer our clients some of the most luxurious and well-priced private jets available on the market, worldwide. Combining a luxury chalet rental experience with a private jet allows guests to enjoy a completely private holiday like no other. After the last few years of missing the mountains, it is understandable that you don’t want anything to compromise your week away. We have seen a significant increase in the demand for not only private jets, but also helicopter transfers to the resort. And with some chalets having their own helipad, it really is an exceptional way to start a luxury ski holiday.
Charles Roberston, Founder of Just Jet, comments “Flying private really is a completely different ball game in comparison to commercial. With a plane to yourself and those you’re travelling with, as well as a level of service that simply can’t be found in commercial travel, the flexibility you have will ensure a relaxed experience. Beyond not having to go through a commercial terminal and the lengthy procedures of bag drop, check-in, security and so on, flying privately is completely time flexible, if you are running late or want to lift off a little early – no problem, so it really does become a stress-free way to travel – the only form of travel where you are truly in control and the whole process revolves around you.”
We have selected three of its clients’ most popular destinations for private air travel.
An iconic landmark within the resort, Courchevel’s Altiport is a hub for private jet arrivals and helicopters. The Altiport is famous for having the world’s shortest runway and the highest tarmacked runway in Europe. Its slopeside position above the villages of Courchevel means you’ll be at your chalet or hotel within minutes, with many chalets collecting guests on Snowmobiles or 4×4 Land Rovers.
There is no helipad in Verbier, as the town wants to maintain its traditional and tranquil feel, so guests will fly directly to Sion and then take a 20-minute helicopter transfer to Le Chable before a 15-minute car transfer up to the resort. Alternatively, for the more adventurous (and those with skis and boots to hand), you can be dropped at the Croix-de-Cœur mountain pass and ski down straight into Verbier, where their bags will be waiting in their chalet, and a glass of Champagne, naturally.
For those not tempted to join the crowds on the train from Geneva to Zermatt, they can opt to land their private jet at Sion Airport and then enjoy a panoramic helicopter ride to Zermatt’s Helipad. Travel exclusively, comfortably and with a magnificent view – the ultimate way to start a luxury ski chalet holiday.
We have a whole host of fabulous ultimate Luxury Ski Chalets on our website available to rent across the Alps, so please do not hesitate to get in touch. Our team are always waiting with plenty of knowledge and inspiration to help you organise your dream ultra-luxury chalet holiday.
