Summer Activities

Take to the stunning flower meadows and get active outdoors. Hiking in the Alps offers amazing trails with spectacular views, wildlife, lakes, waterfalls and plenty of peace and tranquility. Hiking is for all ages and such a great activity to do as a family, or as a couple. Many resorts offer professionals to take you out on guided walks where you can access hidden trails and come across the most beautiful scenery.

Trained professionals will assist you to scale new heights and routes giving you access to the most incredible mountain views. You can be taught many skills such as ab-sailing and belaying which is a great group activity. Depending on your climbing ability the instructors can choose to take you on easy routes or more difficult technical climbs.

High robes in the alps is brilliant for kids that love obstacle courses and being tarzan for the day. You wear a harness with cow tails attached to ensure your safety, you then have the opportunity to swing, slide, and zip wire through the alpine trees.

Tennis in the sunny Alps is a very popular activity in summer and attracts many people of all ages. A professional coach is on-hand to teach you or improve your skills, it’s a great way for your kids to meet others and perhaps pick up the racket for the first time.

Cycling in the Alps is without a doubt the most popular summer alpine activity be it on the road or on mountain trails. Cycling is extremely popular and also one of the best ways to see the mountain views, wildlife and scenery. If you are not the most confident on a bike there are beginner routes as well as advanced trails, plus electric bikes, so you don’t have to pedal much and gain easy access to spectacular hidden trails.

If you are not a fan of cycling yourself, why not take in one of the many cycling races that happen in the Alps in summer, like the Tour de France that runs through Megeve and Morzine at the beginning of July each year.

Lake swimming in the alps in one of the most popular activities, it’s brilliant for kids and adults. The water is so clear and fresh it feels so relaxing, especially on a hot day the shoreside beaches are great to sunbathe on. Kayaking, paddleboarding, pedalo’s and kids games are all available in most resorts and great fun for all families. Some more private lakes that you can trek to have swings and rocks you can jump off, it’s a good activity to combine with other family friendly summer activities like walking, climbing or cycling. (Morzine, Tignes & Chamonix all have fabulous local lakes, ask our sales team for more info)

Adopt a relaxing activity and take the opportunity to unwind. The yoga sessions will leave you feeling calm and tranquil. Outdoor yoga gives you the luxury of fresh air and spectacular views.
